Find Your Pack: Join the Treasure Valley Dog Lover Treasure Hunt
In 2020, we got Archer â well, technically my son, Logun, got him.
But it didnât take long before it was clear: Archer was going to be my forever fur buddy.
I work from home, so I became the one who took him everywhere â to the dog park, on daily hikes, to swim in the ponds and rivers, and even to chase geese off the local golf course (much to Archer’s delight, and the geese’s dismay).
At the time, Logun was becoming a teenager â my youngest, growing into his own life.
And without even realizing it, Archer became the new “baby” of the house.
What surprised me the most, though, was how much my world changed.
I had always had dogs â little ones, like my chihuahua â but a Heeler?
A Heeler needs adventure.
A Heeler needs community.
And, apparently, so did I.
Suddenly, I was discovering dog parks tucked away in neighborhoods Iâd never explored, breweries with patios full of happy pups, hidden trails winding through our city parks â and with every new outing, I met more people.
Dog people.
My kind of people.
It opened up a whole new world I didnât even know I was missing.
A world full of friendship, fresh air, laughter, and connection â all thanks to a dog who needed to run, to play, and to belong.

The Secret to Building a Life Full of Wagging Tails and Good Friends
Not every connection is meant to meet every needâand that’s okay.
Sometimes we feel disconnected because we expect one person to be everything: our adventure buddy, our deep conversation partner, our playmate, and our motivator.
But the truth is, different connections can bring out different parts of us.
When you open your life to more peopleâespecially fellow dog loversâyou start finding what you didnât even know you were missing.
đž Friends who are always up for a hike, a trail run, or a road tripâpups in tow.
đž Friends who just get it when you talk about your dog being your biggest source of comfort.
đž Friends who bring the laughter, the silly games, the spontaneous brewery hangs (bonus points if itâs dog-friendly).
đž Friends who challenge you to show up betterâfor yourself, for your dog, and for the people (and pets) who count on you.
Building connections with other dog people can naturally fill these spaces in your lifeâand sometimes, they end up filling all of them.
All it takes is saying yes to the next walk, the next meetup, the next hello.
